POSITION DESCRIPTION: To manage and replenish packaging/ingredient inventories for WhiteWave products at company-owned and co-manufacturing facilities.
Reconcile packaging/ingredient receipts to purchase orders, accurately track packaging/ingredient costs to maintain a desired level of working capital.Track inventory and minimize write-off for art changes or discontinuation.
Work with plants, corporate buyers, Enterprise Planning and schedulers on process improvement in the areas of planning, transaction accuracy and inventory control.
Assist Purchasing Managers with projects and workload as needed. Troubleshoot and correct problems with system data and process flow. Implement special projects to improve system data, processes, or inventory.

Responsibilities:
Manage desired inventory levels of packaging/ingredients to support production
Initiate purchase orders to replenish inventories
Provide production consumption and forecast information to plants and suppliers to improve efficiencies
Collect information on rejected packaging/ingredients from the plants and follow through with suppliers for credit memos
Work with the Marketing department, Creative Services, Packaging/Ingredient Managers and the suppliers to implement and manage the exit of discontinued packaging/ingredients and introduce new packaging/ingredients at the production facilities. May include filling out appropriate forms for sign off, setting up system for BOM change over and taking over ordering release orders at the plant through the transition
Coordinate with Planning and Scheduling in regards to FGs and MRP settings to optimize inventory in relation to FGs cut over so that MRP is driving materials appropriately. May also work with Dean integrated plants to initiate material set-up and BOM changes in their system for materials affecting their facilities
Represent the procurement department in project meetings to implement packaging/ingredient changes required per project initiatives
Can express needs of the department effectively and takes ownership in project implementation/representation
Develop a rapport with packaging/ingredient suppliers, purchasing agents at the plant level and all WhiteWave departments involved with packaging/ingredients (QA, R&D, Technical Services, Marketing, Creative Services, Sales, Accounting, Logistics and Master Data)
Strong system and process understanding. Able to work with plant procurement, planning and scheduling to set-up materials to accurately reflect needs in MRP
Assist other departments to correct settings that are impacting procurement
Work on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manuals and other reference material
Improve application of system software to maximize the information provided to the users within the department
Train plant procurement personnel on using SAP tools and transactions
May include web based training, or written instructions
Must be willing and able to travel
Take initiative to participate in and/or start process improvement meetings
Represents the interests of the Procurement department while working in collaboration with other departments to resolve issues as they arise and making sure the solutions work for all departments affected
May also take on independent projects for system and process improvements
Coordinate monthly obsolescence list. Submit items for obsolescence/write-off, request final counts from plant
Investigate and fill in reason codes on 90 day report for items not being used. Submit for write-off if necessary
Assist Procurement Managers with special projects and workload as needed. May include data pulls, analysis and some supplier ownership in terms of updating forecast or min/max information on a quarterly basis
SAP Expertise, can troubleshoot minor as well as more complex SAP problems for Procurement. Resolve issues with system data, MRP not driving correctly or pulling incorrect pricing. Also assist in system set-ups that may not be correct to drive materials more effectively

Education and
Experience:
Bachelor degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Minimum 5 years Operations experience required, including 3 years in Purchasing/Procurement
2
years food industry experience strongly preferred
5
years prior operations experience
SAP experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently
Have strong analytical skills and be able to make informed decisions
Excellent record keeping / documentation skills
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel
