The Role Working independently with limited supervision, Senior Network Implementation Engineers work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment where team interaction is crucial. They are responsible for the implementation of the Lumen network to meet operational and financial requirements. Their primary responsibilities are to commission and test new equipment, create and implement test plans, and hand off a clean system to the NOC. The Engineer will be responsible to support the Field technicians during the physical installation phase. In addition, the Engineer will be responsible to resolve issues for initial builds and augments of Metro Ethernet rings. They schedule work with Lumen technicians and vendors, validate scope of work, bill of materials, and detail engineering designs. In addition to these engineering and project management functions, Senior Network Implementation Engineers will also be responsible for defining engineering standards and M&P's. They will be responsible for providing requirements for applications used by the department and participating in Network Readiness and System Readiness testing. Senior Network Implementation Engineers will interact with A&E, Planning, NOC, Operations, SP&T, Finance, and Sales. The Main Responsibilities Review BOM, SOW, and engineering package to ensure the project meets engineering and financial criteria Provide project management support throughout the lifecycle of the project Ensure the integrity of the data in the engineering and provisioning systems Understand design of initial build and augmentation to Metro Ethernet rings Schedule/manage maintenance windows as required Configure ethernet switches remotely Support field operations during deployment Complete test and turn up procedures including monitoring and environmental alarming as required o New Ring Turn Up o Node Insert o Single Site Hot Cut Support new product and platform introductions Support developing and implementing automation, reporting, processes, and procedures to improve efficiency What We Look For in a Candidate Expert knowledge of network design of ethernet systems and Metro 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 rings Advanced knowledge of ethernet core and edge equipment Financial aspects of network design Vendor management Advanced knowledge of network infrastructure Project management and reporting Technical lab knowledge Advanced document/requirements writing
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
System & Network AdministrationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
