The Role The Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Security Engineer is responsible for leading the first line of defense Information Security services around DLP security related matters. This role reviews, designs and develops security operational processes, standards and procedures The DLP Security Engineer works with internal teams to implement data classification and data loss prevention solutions to improve security that is aligned with corporate business objectives and regulatory requirements. The Main Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities Monitors and anticipates trends and implements organizational objectives and needs Maintains and analyzes operational documentation and reports to support monthly trend analysis as well as project components Leads the research, evaluation, proof-of-concept, selection and implementation of technology solutions Provides detailed analysis of pros and cons and build vs buy options Promotes implementation of new technology, solutions and methods to improve business processes, efficiency, effectiveness and value delivered to customers Analyzes and interprets quality reviews of current solutions and provides technical guidance to improve overall security Participates in high risk security incident response activities and post-event reviews of security incidents Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) for the design, implementation, and maintenance of data loss prevention solutions Perform engineering support. Assess operational business processes to ensure security is appropriately integrated. Assess potential risks with new applications and products and provide security requirements and recommendations for risk mitigation to help the business succeed with their projects. Directly engages in advanced troubleshooting and delivery with stakeholders, including end customers. Consult as security subject matter expert with network architects, engineers, and others on solutions to security problems. Recommend new information security systems and controls to mitigate emerging threats and risks across the company. Ensure reports and findings are delivered in a timely and appropriate manner to management, operations and executive leadership. Recommend new security policy, standards, best practices, and system configuration standards. Consult with internal clients on security topics and policy interpretation. Identify higher risk areas of the corporate and carrier infrastructure for assessment. Coordinate activities across multiple departments and business units. Other duties as assigned. What We Look For in a Candidate Required Bachelors Degree 6 years of experience, or 4 with Masters degree Preferred Masters Degree Ability and commitment to communicate effectively, consistently chooses communication methods to ensure critical information reaches and persuades intended audience Uses strong interpersonal skills to build partnerships with stakeholders and peers Possesses leadership qualities and persuades stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes Demonstrates a strong sense of ownership and commitment toward leading peers and stakeholders on critical projects and tasks; making, meeting and communicating progress.
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
IT SecurityEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
