Perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture. Analyze and debug storage product issues by reproducing the problem in the lab and analyzing the failure logs. Work on complex customer escalations that are escalated to product development engineering.
Employer will accept Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field and 3 years of work experience in job offered or 3 years of work experience in a software developer-related occupation. Education or experience must include:
1. Failure Analysis of component failures of system storage products;
2. Crash dump analysis, identifying bugs and identifying solutions;
3. Analyzing SAS bus traces in storage subsystem;
4. Storage protocols including PCI-E, FC, iSCSI, FCoE, USB;
5. Signal integrity measurements and simulation for hardware and assess timing, noise margin, cross talk, signal loss and signal integrity of critical data signals using lab equipment;
6. SCSI and SES requirements of a storage system;
7. Lifecycle of IO from the host to target, traversing through various operating systems including Solaris, Linux, Windows;
8. Unit testing and qualification of new hardware, BIOS, software and mechanical or electrical interconnects such as cables and connectors;
9. Debugging NAS and SAN configuration issues; and
10. Firmware and application software using C, assembly, bash scripting, Perl, python and VHDL.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
